AN ANTI-MILITARIST.

"FETCH A ROPE." Press Association. DARGAVILLE, June 21. Williams, the Christchurch anti-mili-tarist, was rushed by a crowd of several hundred persons on Saturday evening. He spoke for only a quarter of an hour, and was pelted with -flour and mud, and was hooted. Finally a rope was requisitioned, and an attempt was made to lassoo him. He was knocked off his box and, under police protection, rushed to the shop of a local draper, a sympathiser.

The crowd hooted vigorously, though it was good-tempered.

This is the second occurrence of the kind in the past six weeks.
