Jenkins reached third place by his accurate driving, doing the round in 73. Braid's chances were spoilt by bad putting, though he/ made one fine putt of 25 yards. Hilton and Tom Ball did jiot contest final rounds. , r Vardon, in the fourth round, reached the turn in 39, doing the home journey in the same number. : . .
