At a meetiug of the Southland Restoration League to-day the proposed r.ew licensing legislation was discussed, when the following resolutions were carried: — "That the period between the carrying of prohibition and the giving effect thereto be extended to seven years." ~. "That the majority, necessary t© carrying local no-license or national;prohibition should not be reduced below 60 per cent of the votes polled." - ; - * \ "That the Government should announce how the "*.£1,000,000 loss of rcveyue which prohibition" involve would be made up." ■■<•■ - . " That the league deprecates the imposing upon the whole country the experience of Invercar'gill under no-license a ud'the methods which it enforces resp'ectable citizens to adopt, 'such methods being injurious' to the community." '■ . .. •'■ ■■•■.: -■'■ : '--;.k"- r ..' "That where the majority in a \iplicense area falls below the threeffiftiis necessary' for no-license", half the former license be restored.
