BOWLING.
The annual meeting of the bowling /Section of the United Club was held in the pavilion last night, when, despite the weather conditions, there was a good attendance of members. Mr A. Stedman, president, was in the chair.
The report showed an increase of 20 members last season. The thanks of the club were due to Messrs Stedman, "Woolf, Mercer, and Alston, for trophies given for competitions, and also to Mr J. Ellis, who, since the club's
inception, has done much to help its advance.
The report and balance-sheet were adopted, and the following officers were elected: A'ice-president, Mr I. Woolf;
hen. secretary, Mr A. F. Spiller; committee, Messrs Mercer, Hall, Butler, M'Cullough, and J. Brown, jun.; delegate to Christehurch centre, Mr John . Brown; members of Executive Committee, Messrs John Brown and A. F. Spiller. It was decided that the club should ' enter for the Pennant Competition next season, and the delegate was given a fre hand with regard to the scheme for - Pennant matches, with a recommenda-
tion that clubs should not be called upon to play Pennant matches on more than six Saturdays during the season.
