MOCK BUTTER.

COLOURING FOR MARGARINE.

"ONLY OBJECT TO DECEIVE."

By Cable.—Press Association. —Copyright, SYDNEY, June 16.

The Hon. F. Flowers refused the request of a deputation of margarine manufacturers to allow colouring matter to be used in its manufacture. He declared that the use of colouring could only be with the object of deceiving the people. He had nothing against margarine itself, but would not allow it to be placed on the market under exactly similar conditions as butter.
