The . monthly meeting of the Amuri
County. Council was attended by Messrs D. BitKerford (chairman), Atkinson, J. H. Davison, T. Davison, M'Rae, Northdote, Pulley, and Rutherford. Messrs Parnham and Duncan wrote regarding a dangerous spot on the road leading to their properties, .*pdi offered .to do the necessary work if the Council would find the materials. — Referred to the Overseer to report. Mr L. 'J. Pulley wrote, stating that he had saHed a meeting of settlers interested in the building of a bridge over Swamp
Drelek" to ask them if they would contribute 50 per cent, towards the cost of erection, but they had declined to do so. As an alternative, he asked that the jroad through Mr W. J. Smith's property be opened up for traffic to allow ''mttlerg' 1 to £et to Waiau when the Mason River was in flood. A petition was received, signed by fifteen ratepayers, asking that a portion of the Xtowns O&oad be was decided to attend to the worst places early in the spring. Mr J. O'Donnell, y7ai%U, frrote, complaining of the bad /state "of the water-table fronting his property, and asked that some improvement be effected^—To be informed that ike watter would b« attended to by • fine surfaceman. to report to next meeting. It was decided to apply to the Union Bank of Australia for an overdraft not exceed-
