LATE NEWS

The annual billiards match between members, of the Union and Canterbury' Rowing Clubs will be held in the latter's rooms this evening.

• TWINS v. SINGLES.

TALK IS CHEAP UNTIL FACED WITH FACTS.

To save any .further arguments concerning' the relatiye merits of TWIN CYLINDER and SINGLE CYLINDER machines:for Side Car service, not only in the King's Birthday Side Car Trial. As oftentimes the winning machine is credited with having all the motorist luck, we will give the OFFICIAL results of the ONLY THREE Side Car Trials that have been held under the auspices of the North Canterbury Motor Cyclist's Club. The first trial, held on June 3, 1913 (when highest points were awarded for reliability and petrol consumption), proved an easy win for H. Jones on his TWIN "KING DICK," who had an absolute NON-STOP run, at the same time gaining HIGHEST points for PETROL consumption, thus proving that TWIN CYLINDERS were even more economical than the Singles. The second eveut, held on December 16, 1913, proved another easy win for THE TWIN KING DICKS, E. Armitage securing first place, with an absolute NON-STOP. The third trial, on .King's Birthday, saw THE TWIN KING. DICKS winning the event for the THIRD TIME IN SUCCESSION, H. Jones being awarded the possible 1000 MARKS. Performances such as these do not require any BOLSTERING. The fact remains . that the TWIN CYLINDER "KING DICKS" have demonstrated very decidedly tlieir superiority over all other makes, and, further, that for every day Side Car work there is nothing able to competo with the Twin Cylinder machine. Photos of the respective winners c„u be seen in our windows. We also invite motorists to come and inspect the latest inodils 6 H.P. Twin King Dick, and Chain Drive 1 ' Singer.'' Trials by appointment. JONES BROS., LTD., Sole Agents, Opposite Clock Tower; Christchurch. H. Jones, outside representative. .6
