"PIGEON PARAGRAPHS."

To the Editor of THE. SUN.

~.. Sir,-r—Since the above column of yonr respected paper , has been opened, it appears that your writer ? .'/ Jacobin,'' can serve us with no general news but ring profits, Christchureh Pigeon Club, and. W.,8. M'Kenzie's loft." Now, Sir, | in your latest.. issue the whole informaj tion is about pigeon rings and a cheap dialogue. " v ". " Jacobin" would like us to believe, i that he is an authority on thering busi-. ; ness. I question it, and ean safely say. : that he is on the' wrong track. Still, I' |am prepared- to-'give him a chance of expounding his "knowledge" on general matters, and if a "straight-out answer" can be arrived at it will certainly add ' a little change to his general routine. I kindly request sufficient room for answers to my.fallowing questions:—

. (1) I beliieve the Maoriland Colums barian Association has. heeni in existence for two years; what profit has been nlade by that body per 'year.?. (?) .Considering- the championships of; fered by the Maoriland Columbarian Association at recent shows are similar to those offered in 1913, what has the association done for the pigeon fancy since? -

(3) At the recent Christchurch Pigeon Club-h Show, tlie Canterbury. Poultry Association is;' supposed "to have held a show out of all the poultry varieties, but only two classes were offered—cock or Voekerei, hen or pullet—arid- only some six. entries were received.- Has this '' supposed'' association a minute book, and who are its? officers?

Is the Canterbury Poultry Association a genuine poultry society, or were these classes arranged, as reported, to enable pigeon fanciers living at a distance to take advantage of the rebate allowed by the, Railway Department on exhibits to a poultry show, which would not have been available for a pigeon show only? These matters have been freely discussed in the street, and no doubt if replied to through your well, circulated columns will, perhaps, enlighten a few.— I am, etc., CONSISTENCY. ;
