J; The most daring daylight robbery in , ** the annals of Sydney crime occurred at ~ \. noon to-day. •*% A pay clerk drew £6700 from the bank -^ to pay the Eveleigh workshops employees $ and drove to the Wilson Street entrance in a cab. He placed a cash-box contain- \* ing £3300 on the shoulders of a Work- y^ man, and simultaneously a motor ear •<? drew up. A masked man descended, up the clerk with a revolver," snatched * £ the box, transferred it to the car, and drove off. ~i A passing cart dashed off in pursuit, .-£ but the horse collapsed, and the drivers. V/"j was compelled to abandon the chase. % The robbers stole the car an hour -- : T-> earlier from the corner of Market and " "^ Castlereagh Streets.
