CRISIS APPROACHING.
MAITLAND MINERS'.-''DISPUTE.. AFTERNOON SHIFT TROUBLE.
By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright.
SYDNEY, June
A crisis on the Maitland CoalfieMs; appears to be inevitable. A notice was< posted at the pits that unless the meifc worked the afternoon shift to-day, the* mines would be. closed down.
The men employed in the Greta pit. did* not work the afternoon shift today, and those in other collieries appear to be equally determined not to do seIt is almost certain that these pits will be closed down to-morrow, throwing, idle nearly 4000 men.
The executive of the Miners' Federation is not advising the men in the matter, but is leaving them to fight their own battle.
An attempt will be made to confine the trouble to the Maitland fields
