COURTENAY SHOW.
A FERTILE DISTRICT.
The annual winter show j under the auspices of the Courtenay Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held today on the Kirwee show grounds. The object of this show is to demonstrate what the Courtenay. district is capable of producing, and the roots and other products exhibited to-day were certainly a tribute" to the fertility of what is fairly regarded as one of the best farming districts of Canterbury. , This fixture have been held on the 22nd inst<, but owing -to the inclement weather an' that date it was deemed advisable to postpone the show until today. The sectioii devoted to roots was one of the best in-jKe show, bufr several of the other sections were much neglected. The turnips were exceptionally good for this season and some fine lots of potatoes were shown. The following is the prize-list: — . ROOTS. Up-to-date potatoes: 'H. Roper 1 and 2. Derwcnt potatoes: G.
