THE SUN SPECIAL.
FIRST AND BEST. THOUSANDS OF PAPERS SOLD. Though thje cables in the morning papers hinted at a big disaster, the first authentic news —and it was of a most startling description—was given to the public in a special edition of THE SUN, issued shortly after mid-day. The news dealing with the disaster —which is only exceeded in enormity by the foundering of the Titanic, in the list of modern marine casualties —was read by thousands, and everywhere were heard expressions of sorrow that<; the list of ships lost at-sea had received such a terrible and fatal addition. Other editions of THE SUN will continue to give the latest news to hand, and we anticipate that ..in'our 5 o'clock and. sports' editions this evening further news will be available.
PICTURE ON VIEW AT THE SUN • OFFICE. - ' A fine' picture.in colour of the impress 'of Ireland,; kindly lent by Thos. Cook' and Son, was exhibited in front of THE SUN office this afternoon, and attracted a great deal of interest. / The picture °mll be on view this evening till 10 o'clock.
