British emigration returns for the first four months of 1914 show the following figures:— To Australia, 13,016, a decrease of 10,407 compared witji the corresponding period of 1913. To New Zealand, 23G7, a decrease of 2513. To Canada, a decrease of 35,329. - CANADA'S POLICY. OTTAWA, May 19. Replying to an appeal by unemployed, Mr Borden, the Prime Minister, declared that , the policy of the Government was to restrict immigration' as much as-possible to farm labpurers and agriculturists'.
