LATE SHIPPING.

The new Harbour Board tug was taken /or a spin outside the Heads and back on Thursday afternoon for her builders' trials <aaysthe "Otago-Daily Times"). Although the «ngines had only, been running,, for-. a «ouplc of hours the ..previous day as she lay at the wharf, her engines were subjected to a severe test yesterday afternoon, being kept running at full speed practically during 4he Whole of her maiden trip. The sea outside the Heads was fairly rough, driving tho- trawlers and fishing boats inside, but the new craft made easy weather of it, and rode the seas in such a manner as to evoke ■very gratifying remarks concerning her seagoing qualities. During portion of the trip coming up the harbour the tug attained a speed of about 1'- knots per hour, which is in excess of the speed called for by the contract. It is probable that the Dunedlu ■will be ready to undergo her official tests and speed trials next week.
