After visiting friends with his wife and children, George Cottte, aged 29, took his |two sons, five av.l three years of age respectively, for a walk. A few 'minutes later he w'as'found in a back laiie ''wi.th 'his ;t;hr,c* t cut, with the two children lying dead beside, him. Their heads were almost severed; Cottle is-nbt expected to live.
Mrs Cottle is unable. ,to ..give any cause for ijhe.. tragpdy, although :fche says her husbapdihad threatened-to cut her and the Children's throats.

On the whole Cottles lived fairly lappily, though he was of a jealous disposition. Lately he had suffered from depression.
A letter from a relative was found in his upbraiding him for his treatment" of his wife.
