We have been told that the magnificent performance of Cadillac Cars in the 1914 Swedish Trials has not been sufficiently emphasised. Let us repeat th« facts briefly: V"' ' Three Cadillac cars started. ~~ ~~ Iwo finished, and the third, on the last day, when nearing the end of the trial, sank into a ditch; otherwise all three cars would have completed the terribly hard journey. One of the Cadillacs accomplished the Best Time in the Hill Climb of any car in its class. Considering the appalling road and weather conditions, and the fact that out of 61 starters (representing the world's best makes) only 12 finished, it must be admitted that the performance was wonderful. It's just a way Cadillac cars have. " * About the same time as the Swedish Trials, another Cadillac was competing in the Australian Inter-State Trial—Sydney to Melbourne, a distance of 628 miles, occupying three days. / The conditions here were exactly opposite, terrific heat and the worst possible raw roadf being met with. Out of 28 cars, only four obtained a perfect score for Reliability. Hie Cadillac was. one, and secured a Gold Medal. Its average petrol consumption for the three days worked out at 19 miles per gallon. DEXTER & CROZIF.R CHRISTCHURCH & AUCKLAND
