The Stormbird had a lively experience on her last trip from Wellington to Wanganui (says the Evening Post)., SJie-arrived off the bar on Saturday iporning in the height of the terrific southerly gale. Owing to the storm and high seas which were running, some difficulty was experienced in picking up the entrance to the Wanganui harbour. Mr F. Harkness, who was a passenger from Wellington, stated that he had an experience which he has no wish to repeat. He £poke very highly of the manner in; which the little boat was handled and behaved. " She proved equalto the occasion, and .he has no doubt she is well named. Some idea of the force of the gale on Saturday>may be gained from the fact that while passing 'up the Tiver .clouds of sand were lifted'from the bluff, although it wa& at?the time; an,d parried right across the river, falling like rain upon the whilst in raidstream. t ... , :>.i ~- >i*
