INDUSTRIES WEEK.

INTEREST INCREASING.

Although.the. cold, . wet weather of this, the fifth, day of Industries "Week is keeping many people away from the business'portions of Christchurcli, the various exhibits of New Zealand manufactures are attracting much attention. With each succeeding day the exhibits have increased in number and quality, and now the display which the Industrial Association has brought about is an excellent one.

A comprehensive and very fine exhibit is that made by Graham, Wilson and Sinellie, drapers and mercers, in High Street. It occupies a considerable portion of their commodious store, apart from three large show windows. Well arranged, so that every article can be seen to advantage, it embraces many excellent examples of almost everything that man or woman needs in clothing or in woollen goods. And there are other articles of everyday use as well. One particularly attractive feature of this display is the section occupied by rugs. Nearly everyone knows the virtues of Ivaiapoi rugs, but the variety and artistry of the patterns in Graham, Wilson and Smellie's exhibit will be a revelation to many people. In the next department -is an interesting display of Oamaru tweeds and worsteds. Another has a fine range of woollen and tweed clothing for ladies, and in yet another there is a big assortment of i miderclothing, socks, and stockings. Ths. windows contain attractive . exhibit of ladies' and children's clothing, all-wool blankets, and men's underclothing, in which there is an unusually good .range of materials. The whole, display is//both educative and interesting. h -.t : - The Canterbury ;;Wireworking Com-! pany, Limited, of 62k Colombo Street, are making a special display this week of the wire and iron, goods produced in their factory, and for the convenience of the public have arranged to have their premises thoroughly illumated to-night (Friday),, so that the public may have an opportunity, of seeing their goods to the best advantage.
