THE Y.M.C.A. CAMPAIGN.

A RISING THERMOMETER. MEMBERS COMING IN. The Y.M.C.A. campaign for the 500 new members is going on steadily, and new members are rapidly being secured. In yesterday's SUN the thermometer, recorded a rise to the fifty membership mark, but a mistake occurred. The figures given were unofficial, for it was subsequently discovered that the actual number of new members was 27. This morning the members of the various teams were at their work with great energy, and at 1 p.m., when less than half the returns were in, 35 new members had been enrolled, making a total of 62 since the campaign opened. '' The Aerolus'' had an easy lead with 18 members, "The Cody" and ''Caudron" coming next with nine and eight respectively. Fourth place is filled by the '' Parse val' ' and '' Bleriot'' with five. LAST NIGHT'S FUNCTION. Last evening "high tea,'' presided over by the-Mayer, was held in the '' Aerodrome," and about 70 or 80 members attended. The Mayor, in a brief address, paid a tribute to the work of the Association at Lake Coleridge, and at the re--cent camp at Kowai, where everywhere he had heard expressions of appreciation regarding -the Association in what, it had done'out there. ~. A highly enthusiastic meeting took place after tea, at which reports from delegates to the recent convention in Auckland were presented. ' - The Secretary. (Mr E. C. Brownell), ,gave a lantern lecture.on tije work in.: America, and instructed his audience as ,to the best methods to secure new mem>bers. : Much helpful advice was also bestowed by the President (Mr W. THE SUN'S "Progress Thermometer," which will show day by day the result of the Membership Campaign. To-night the various team captains will have a short meeting, and discuss plans whereby an even greater sueeess for the campaign may be achieved.
