Bryan has instructed Huerta to be informed that the United Slates will accept nothing less than a salute of 21 guns, the American ships, replying immediately thereafter. Mr Bryan intimates that this can be< construed as an ultimatum. t It is believed that Huerta is likelyto comply. Later. Cabinet is practically unanimous! that no further time should be givcni Huerta to comply with the Americam demands. •£- Huerta's latest demand is considered? merely a move to maintain prestige in; the eyes of his countrymen. It is* pointed out that the return salute, gunu for gun, will make the apology valueless.
