COUNTY COUNCILS.
RANGIORA. An ordinary meeting of the Eaugiora €oun±y Council was held yesterday, "when tliere were present:—-Messrs F. Horrell (chairman), A. M 'liitosh, H. Garrett, W. H. Stokes, W. Stalker, L. ~W. "Campion, and 11. Tallott. It was decided to write to the Minister of Customs, the Hon. F. M. B. Fisher, with regard to a rebate of duty upon a traction engine which the council is importing. The Public Works Department wrote, stating that the £2OO, on the £ for -£ subsidy, was now available for the Cam bridge road. —It was decided that plains for the bridge should be prepared. Mr A. M'lntosh was reappointed as a manager of the Kaiapoi Technical School. Following upon an application by the -Rangiora High School, it was decided "that the council considered the woolclassing classes of great importance, and that the members would use their personal endeavours to make them inown. It was decided that all outstanding rates should be sued for after the 28th. Mdssrs .Johnston, Mills, aivd Joyce advised that under the Land Drainage Aet occupiers Of land with drains intd the main drainage were responsitrie for cleaning them, and it was decided that notices be given to occupiers and owners of No. 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7, and Boys's drain accordingly. In reply to a letter .from the Valuer' General, it was decided it was not pos* uible to supply a return of Native land luns in the country. The financial statement showed recepts £134 '3/9, overdraft £132 10/2, and accounts passed for payment £260 13/10.
