Cabled' advice received by the Union Company reports the arrival of the Tahiti at San Francisco on Thursday, her due date. To-day the Roscommon leaves Lyttelton for Wellington to complete loading for Boston and New York. This direct service was inaugurated" last month by the Banffshire, which though not a full ship took a fairly large general cargo from New Zealand, in addition to that loaded in Australia. The representatives of the Federal and Shire Line are very satisfied with the amount of cargo which has been offering for the Roscommon and the ship will be praetically full when 'she sails on Wednesday next from Wellington. The Banffshire took no frozen meat, but this will form part of the Roscommon's cargo. The loading arrangements of the steamer Buteshire have been altered. Instead of going to Picton she proceeds from the Bluff for Gisbome, and afterwards calls at Timaru, Lyttelton, Waitara, Picton, and Wellington, in the order mentioned. She is fixed to finally from Wellington on May 5 for Avonmouth. Mr ,J\ E.'Berquest has joined the scow Echo as--mate.
