JEWELLERS' DISPUTE.

DUNEDIN, April 17.
The Conciliation Commissioner sat today to 'hear the dispute between the Manufacturing Jewellers, Watch and Clock Makers and Kindred Trades Union of Workers and 28 -employers carrying on business in Dunedin. After a sitting lasting most of the day an agreement was arrived at. The week's work is to consist of. 47 hours. Over-, time is to be paid at the rate of time: and a-quarter for the first two hours, time -and ;a-half for the two liours, and thereafter I'dottble time; double time for work done on Sundays, Christmas Day, and Good Fridays time and a-half for work on Boxing' Day, .New Year's Day, January 2,' Easter Monday, picnic iday, iand the birthday of .the reigning' Sovereign. The minimum wage is to be £3. The wages of apprentices are to be 7/6 for the first year, .12/6 the second year, 17/6. the third year, .22/6 the fourth year,'; 27/6 :the fifth year, and 35/- the sixth year.
