TERRITORIAL NOTES.

Major Loach, of the 13th (North Canterbury and Westland) Regiment, will be in command of, the Coast "Defence Forces at the coming camp. Colonel C. J. Cooper, officer in command of the Coast Defence, will be in Auckland at the time. It is expected that there will be some 400 men. of this branch under canvas, including several companies from the West Coast. The appearance and work of the Westport .men is particularly looked for, as they have gained an excellent name for themselves. The -13 th Regiment will have a fine muster, and has every desire in the world and all hope of winning the 'Shield this year. The rivalry between this regiment and the Ist (Canterbury) would appear to remain as keen as ever on the Coast.
