POULTRY MEN.
CONFER AT WELLINGTON. Press Association. WELLINGTON, April 16. The conference of the New Zealand Poultry Association was continued today. Several remits were adopted. On the motion of the Canterbury delegates the Government is to be urged to appoint two additional instructors for the farmers and poultrymen to arrest the enormous waste in marketing eggs and poultry and to provide for the accurate return of the value of poultry products in the Dominion. A remit from Auckland proposing that the Government should establish an egglaying competition, to be conducted at Ruakura State Farm, produced a lively discussion, and evoked strongly-expressed opposition from the Christchurch delegates. The motion was lost. It was resolved to urge the Government to move in obtaining suitable provision for the carriage of eggs to Vancouver.
