ARMY OFFICERS' NEED. "Times" and "Sydney Sun" Services. LONDON, April 6. The military correspondent of "The Times," discussing the Radical and Labour demand for the democratisation of the Army, urges better pay for officers. Infantry officers must possess a private income of £l5O per year, and cavalry officers £SOO. To enable poor soldiers to take commissions would mean an additional cost of £1,500,000 per annum in the upkeep of the home Army.
