SCOUT TROUBLES.

Trouble at a meeting of scout*,, : masters held on Saturday evening, as." the result of which it' appears that the ■ district commander, over 100 boy scouts - and a number of scoutmasters have / 1 seceded from the movement in Auck- " land. ! '*- scoutmasters were endeavouring ±o hap-' , ass the commander :in every manner possible, and towards the close of the meeting there was. a good deal of headed argument. Finally the chairman, Mr G. Thorp, stated that his position " as commander of the district was a / purely honorary one, and... he would therefore no longer tolerate the continued 'interferences. He withdrew, stating that he would send in his resignation. Five scoutmasters also left' the meeting, and to-day forwarded their resignations, together with those of. their officers and the Jooys of their troops, to the Dominion Scout. The scoutmasters who have, resigned intend holding "a meeting shortly with the idea of forming a body that will be the nucleus of a fresh scout organisation at Auckland..
