DUNEDIN DOINGS.

From Our Special Correspondent. DUNEDIN,' April G. Dunediji can no longer be looked upon as poorly provided for in the matter of tea rooms. The Plaza Picture Palace Company have thrown refreshment rooms in connection with their theatre, and are making a special feature of dainty suppers. The decorations are shaded from tussore to a rich golden brown, and the same colouring is carried out in the assistants' frocking. The enterprising manager speaks of having tea served in the theatre, so the up-to-date hostess - will be bidding her guests, shortly, to picture teas. Between thirty and forty of Miss Dorothy Finch's girl friends were bidden last Thursday by Mrs P. Sargood to an afternoon in her honour. The party was held at Mrs Sargood's residence, '' Maniototo." Very few of those present were:—Mrs Finch, Mrs John Ewen, Mrs Hazlett (Invercargill), Mrs Chaffey (Canterbury). On Saturday Miss Hetty Sawell was married to Mr Winter, of Canterbury. The wedding was celebrated at Warrington, where the bride's parents have their seaside cottage. The bride wore a charming white embroidered voile dress, while her bridesmaids (Miss Nellie Webb and Miss Heather Black) were in pale pink, and pale blue cloth, respectively. The whole

party carried pink and white bouquets. The happy couple were the recipients of over one hundred gifts, in addition to several handsome cheques. The first Philharmonic concert of the 1914 season was held in the Garrison Hall on Friday evening. It opened with the march "Onward Otago," specially composed by Signor Squarise for the Duniedin Expansion League's gala week. Miss Maclaren was at the piano. The soloist of the evening was Mr C. S. Mayer, whose accompaniments were delightfully played by Miss S. Stoneham. HONORIA.
