CONDITIONS IN AUSTRALIA. NEW GOVERNOR APPROACHED By Cable. —Prims Association.—-Copyright. (Received April 3, 10.35 a.m.) LONDON, April 2. A deputation from the Society of Friends, headed by Sir John Barlow, in a private interview urged Sir R. C. Munro-Ferguson, the new Governor of the Commonwealth, to support a return to the principle of voluntary military training in Australia. The speakers quoted Lord Denman's recent remark, to the effect that, supposing" universal training became unpopular in _ Australia, the law would be very difficult to administer. The deputation contended that the conditions referred to by Lord Denman are already in existence, and quoted statistics of prosecutions.
