Burns, who has resigned. This morning the Shaw, Savill liner Athenic arrived in port for discharging operations. The New Zealand Shipping Company's chartered steamer Cairnross left Wellington for London this morning. When the Clan Matlieson, now at Lyttelton, completes discharge of her cargo of timber, she goes on the loading berth for London. From Lyttelton she goes to Timaru, and will probably make a call at Picton before going to Wellington to complete. By arriving at London on Tuesday last from .Wellington the . Tyser liner Makarini has added another fast passage to her credit, having completed the voyage in 40- days. The vessel sailed from Wellington on February 19. Among the latest charters announced is the steamer Hollington, now at Adelaide on her way from St. | John to Wellington, via ports, under the auspices of the New, Zealand Shipping Company. When she has completed discharge she is to proceed to Paagoumene to load ore for the United States. Last Monday the Mimiro left Liverpool for Australian and New Zealand ports. She ifi expected to reach Wellington about May 22.
