OTAGO RAM FAIR.
Press Association. DUNEDIN, April 2. The annual ram and ewe fair conducted under the auspices of the Otago Agricultural and Pastoral Association, was held at Burnside to-day, when there was a representative attendance of.breeders. The opinion expressed by one or two leading breeders was that the quality of the sheep forward, taking them all round, could have been much improved on, that they were not by any means representative specimens of the different breeds, and that the best of the rams had been disposed of privately. Fifteen Roinney Marrh stud rams were offered and thirteen were sold, the prices ranging from 12gs to 3gs. Nineteen Border Leicesters were offered and eighteen were sold at prices ranging from 20]gs to 44gs. Only two English Leicester stud rams were offered, and 'they realised 4-Jgs each. The-only Lincoln stud ram in the yard realised 3gs, Eight Corriedale stud rams realised 33Jgs, the best price being sgs. Border Leicester flock rams sold from Slgs to 4gs, English Leicesters 3gs, Corriedales 6ligs to figs, Border Leicesters 2i-gs to 2gs.
