The ordinary monthly meeting of the New Zealand Trotting Association was held this afternoon, when there were present: Messrs P. Selig (chairman), J. H. Pollock, W. H. Denton, W. E. Simes, and A. L. Myers. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs W. H. Hayward and C. F. Mark. Correspondence was received from the New South Wales Trotting Club, notifying several disqualifications, which were endorsed. The New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club wrote to the effect that it could not see its way to remove a fine inflicted on A. Butterfield. v The Forbury Park-. Trotting Cluib forwarded an objection against ■ the decision of the association in the Tottywood-Rose Gauntlet case. The letter was received. The Maaawatu Trotting Club .suggested the inclusion of non-totalisator meeting reports in the Turf Register.-—The Chairman undertook to see into the matter. The New Brighton Trotting Club wrote -regarding the taking of entries for future classic events, in which the horses had not been named at of entry. It was decided to point out to the club that the rules of trotting must be carried out. The Auckland Trotting Club wrote in reference to the disqualification of George Nicholson for misconduct. , It was decided that the disqualification of George Nicholson be endorsed, and that the club should not recommend John Nicholson for a trainer's license. The application of the Otaliuhu Trotting Club for the removal of several disqualifications, caused through the nominating of horses not registered, was acceded to. Correspondence was received from the Wanganui Trotting Club .. and from A. C. Bishop in regard to the dismissal of a protest against Copper King. Mr Bishop a'so asked to have a fine of £5 imposed oil him remitted.—lt was decided that the association had no power to remit the fine. It was resolved to write the Waikouaiti Racing Club expresisng surprise that no reply had been received from it to several letters from the association regarding a protest lodged by J. Shaw, owner of Cupid's Whisper. M. Ryan was fined £5 for corrupt practice, and the Kumara Jockey Club was instructed to pay him the stake won by Verve less the amount of. the fine. In connection with the same case John Ward, jun., was fined £2 for making a false declaration. It was decided to obtain legal advice in regard to the sale of the horse Dagmoor Villa, and the application of W. H. Mortimer to have Dagmoor Villa registered was refused. Several programmes were approved, and the Licensing Committee's report was adopted. (Proceeding.)
