PIGEON SHOOTING.
The Old Timers' Handicap Pigeon MatA took place on Saturday on the Christchureh Gun Club's grounds, at Papanui, in perfect weather for shooting. H. Price won the Diamond Medal in the Old Timers* shoot, securing the whole 10 birds. W. Gk Dean and T. W. Dean, with nine birds each, tied for second place, and H. Norse and J. W. Cassia in third place with eight birds each, each. . , ' . ..
Following oh .the big mateh ■yf»g » £2O handicap, which E. Gee won off the 22yds mark with 10 birds. J. Puller (24yds), T. M. Dean (24yds), B. Henzel (22yds) ,; F. 8. ■ Frampton (23yds), auptd F. Truscott (23yds) each secured nine birds. J. Simpson (26yd*) brought down eight birds. H, J. Tomer, C. G-. Manson, H. Price, E. F. Stead, H. Ayers, W. Gv Dean, W. J. Moir,' Hi' Tale, ; and C. E. Brown retired.
In No. 1 Five-bird Sweepstake, H. Priec and C. E. Brown divided the money. W. J. Moir and H. J. Turner captured No. 2 Sweepstake and took £2 each. They shot off for the balance of the prize-money, and Moir won on the eighth round. • W. E. Henzell and P. G. Framptop- tied in the third sweep. ' ;
