AUTOMATIC TROLLEY POLE.
MEETING OF THE COMPANY. A special general meeting of the Automatic Trolley Pole Company was held at the Company's offices, Cathedral Square, on Friday evening last, Mr C. Allison in the chair. The report of the directors stated that in accordance with the arrangement made_ at the last general meeting, Mr Christian, the inventor, had left for Europe in April last to promote the interests "of the company, and, although his anticipations respecting the sale of the company 's patent, rights had not, so'far, been fulfilled, his letters indicated a much better prospect of his being Successful in the near future. He had obtained an advance of £SOO on his interest, with which he proposed to visit America, and to push, sales in the United Kingdom and on the Continent. In the meantime.he had arranged with an English engineering firm to manufacture and .sell the patent on a royalty basis, and the firm in question were extensively advertising the patent and were very hopeful of its being in big demand. He was also arranging for trials of the patent on the principal tramways in England. The report being considered satisfactory, the meeting decided to authorise the directors to extend the authority given to Mr Christian to sell the company's patent rights for another year. Mr C. Allison and Mr J. H. Maynard were re-elected as directors of the company, and Mr Bush was elected to fill the vacancy in the directorate caused by the resignation of Mr Alcorn on his removal from Canterbury..
