IT CANNOT EXPLODE.

Uniyersity of Chicago scientists, after a series of lengthy experiments designed to discover the nature of the earth's core,' announce that the earth is more rigid than steel, and cannot explode or be destroyed by fire within itself.
Professor Michelson, head of the Department of Physics, states that the inside of the . earth is not a fiery mass, but resists the tidal force of the moon as' if it were made of solid steel. -Despite this fact, the earth behaves as an elastic body. It is subject to tlie same influences as the oceans. The earth's solid surface is subject to the same ebb rind flow as the tides of the ocean, but to a lesser extent. It has been scientifically demonstrated, that tides averaging 12 inches, are. moving the earth's surface regularly. '
