Lord Esher lecturing at the Sorbonne, oii-"War and Peace," said that those v/ho detest war. and desire peace should •welcome an alliance between Britain and Prance " and the conversion of the triple entente into a second triple alliance, leading ultimately to the concert of all the great Powers, based ■upon the reason of common interests from which the uncertain element of sporadic action would be eliminated.
