Since a hypnotist entertainer recently visited Marton several amateur hypnotists have developed hypnotic powers, which they all along believed themselves to possess. One of these recently undertook to hypnotise a young man, and a number of his friends accompanied the professor and subjects to the operator's rooms fo see the miracle performed. The proper passes were made in real professional st#le, and the subject went off like a lamb. When the "Professor" called the subject to action, he developed a most extraordinary destructiveness, and got out of hand altogether. He smashed furniture, piece after piece, while the hypnotist flipped his finger and thumb in his face and yelled, "Eight, right," in accents of high-pitched despair, b«t the subject refused to wake till all was destruction around him. Of course, when he was at last awakened, he was absolutely horrified at what he had done. As may b» guessed, no more exhibitions of mes* merism will be given in that room*
