SHIPPING NOTES. . En route from New Zealand to London, the Shaw, Savill steamer Karamea left Monte Video on Sunday evening. The Waiwera arrived at London last Saturday evening. Mr J. M'ln tyre, late of the Makura, Who has lately .been "fifth officer of the Maitai, came ashore Wellington on Monday, and Mr J. Bruce, late of the Taviuni, signed on tfs extra officer for the run to Auckland. Heavy rain at Napier delayed loading operations of, the Shaw, Savill steamer Matatua. She has yet to load at Picton and Wellington, and is fixed to leave the latter port for London early next week. The recent had weather at the Islands evidently played havoc with the barque Triton, which ran on a reef at Rarotonga in December, and was subsequently abandoned. According to latest advice, the hull of the vessel went to pieces in a gale early last month. It will be remembered that after all attempts had failed to save the Triton, she was sold to some natives for the sum of J £l4O. According to advice received by the postal i authorities the 'Frisco liner Aorangi did not arrive at Sari Francisco till last Saturday—two days late. She left Wellington on February 27, and ieaves 'Frisco again for Wellington on April 1, being due at the northern port on April 28. , The Clan Matheson, from Bunbury, via northern ports, is expected at Wellington tomorrow, and at Lyttelton about March 31. Captain W. Harris is in command, and has 'with him the following officers:—Messrs J. E. Goppin (chief officer), H. Hocking (second), F. Hazell (third), A. Lynch (fourth), B. Roberts and N. Neale (midshipmen), and Mr Little (chief engineer). En route from London to Australian and New Zealand ports, the Star of Victoria left Sydney on Monday for Auckland. She is expected to arrive in Lyttelton about April 8.
