ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
EQUESTRIENNES THROWN. - Press Association. WANGANUI, March 17. During the ladies' jumping competition at the Wayerley Agricultural and Pastoral Association's Show to-daj r , Mrs Becker and Miss Ada Nixon, wellknown Wanganui riders, were thrown, from their horses. The format regained consciousness after treatment, and is being attended to. at the Moumahaki State Farm. Miss Nixon was brought into a local private hospital suffering from concussion. Both are progressing well. FOUND ON THE ROAD. DUNEDIN, March 17. Advice was received from Palmerston to-night that James Ross, a married man with four or five children, was found dying on the road at Green Valley to-day. He was taken to Dunback, but died before a doctor arrived. Deceased Was a shepherd and had been driving a mob of sheep. A BOY DROWNED. INVERCARGILL, March 17. A five-year-old boy named Crawford was drowned in a pool near the Bluff to-day. The boy and a companion had been crayfishing, when the little fellow somehow fell in, drowning before help could be obtained*
