THE LATE LADY GORST.

, "We regret to announce the death of JLady Gorst, which occurred on January •29 at the Manor House, Castle Coombe, near Bath, says the "British-Australa-sian '' of February 5. Lady Gorst, who was Miss Mary Elizabeth Moore, daughter of the Rev. Lorenzo Moore, of Christehurch (N.Z.), was 78 years of age. She married Sir John Gorst in 1860, and her husband was made Civil Commis'Sioner of Waikato the following year. They had five sons and four daughters. Their eldest son," Sir Johp ; Eldon ;Gorst, British Agent in Egypt, died in 1911. Lady Gorst had been ill for two weeks, and was unconscious for several 'flays before her death. Sir John Gorst ias" been ill in London, but is now well on the way to recovery.
