SCOTLAND'S FLIGHTS.
MARK OF APPRECIATION.
The exhibitions of airmanship given by Mr J. W. H. Scotland while he has been in Christchurch have thrilled many thousands of the people. A gentleman called in at THE SUN office to-day with an excellent suggestion. He pointed out that some of the people of Dunedin had been so gratified with the demonstrations given in that city that they had presented Mr Scotland with a very handsome gold medal as an appreciation of his daring and intrepid displays. The exhibitions given to the residents of this district have far exceeded those to which the people of the -southern city; were treated, and he thought it would be a graceful' act if a public fund were opened here in order to present the young aviator with some memento of his visit, and by way of further appreciation of his undoubted talent in the air. The suggestion w,as acted upon, and a list was opened at THE SUN office. Anv subscriptions will be acknowledged in the columns of THE SUN. The following have already been received:— J.D. ' '.. ...
