ISLINGTON FREEZERS' PICNIC.

The Islington Freezing Works held its annual picnic at Pearson's Parle, Oxford, on Saturday last, about 600 people going by special train. The weather was fine and a good day was spent. Under the guidance of a strong committee, with Mr R. Morton as president and Mr W. Martin as secretary, a lengthy programme of sports was carried out. Results were: —Youths' Race: Mr Bent 1, Mr M'Clusky 2, D. Lennox 3. Married ladies: Mrs Voice 1, Mrs Bench 2, Mrs Nuttall 3. Islington Handicap: Earnshaw and Falconer dead heat, G. Millar 3. Single ladies: Miss Hawker 1, Miss Coulter 2, Married men's: D. M 'Garry 1, G. Dixon 2. Braid handicap: W. Freeman 1, G. Millar 2. Baby show: Mrs Monk 1, Mrs Watson 2, Mrs Bench 3.
