INDUSTRIAL UNREST.
THE LAZY STRIKE. By Cable. —Press Association. —Copyright. (Received February 26, 9.45 a.m.) MELBOURNE, February 26. A meeting of the Wharf Labourers' Union decided to test the vote at last Thursday's mass meeting by a secret ballot on the overtime question, and as to whether the present attitude can be maintained. It is being contended that the present position is impossible. Members of the Watersiders' Federation decided on a certain policy, and the Council calls upon the Sydney branch to fall into line as the majority accepted Judge Higgins's proposals to resume, and the majority must rule. [Tho wharf labourers last week decided to resume overtime work, but only a section of them did so, the coal lumpers standing out.]
