Tho objects of the St. John Ambulance Association are:— (a) The instruction of persons in rendering First Aid in case of accidents or sudden illness, and in the, transport of the sick and injured. (b) Instruction of persons in the elementary principles and practice of Nursing, and also of Ventilation and Sanitation, especially of a sick-room. (c) The distribution, by sale or presentation, of Ambulance Material, and the formation and maintenance of . Ambulance Depots in centres of industry and traffic. (d) The organisation of Ambulance Corps and Nursing Corps. (e) And generally the -promotion of and carrying out of works for the relief of suffering of the sick ariil injured in peace and war, independently of class, nationality, or denomination.
