To-day sees the opening of . what may be a new saleyard for Canterbury, and•" incidentally, of the pushing of the bounds of commerce further out. One of the biggest sales of North Canterbury is 'taking plafee at White' .Rock, 16, miles' from Rangiora/ in the big yards of the station, which was again t cut up a few months Some 9100 sheep 'are to be offered; and it seems probable that as ,so many sheep are and so many runholders are likely to find White Rock a more con; yenient selling centre than Rangiora, that the sale may become a. regular fixture. * There was a good attendance at the Whiterock sale to-day, and bidding was fairly animated.
