To-night the San Francisco liner Tahiti is due to arive. in Wellington. She has 40,000 ft of timber to discharge at the northern -port; also a of .fruit, some of which is for transhipment to southern ports. - WAIWERA LEFT MONTE VIDEO. Cabled advice has beerj; received by the local agents of the Waiwera -that she resumed her voyage from Monte Video last Sunday. The Waiwera left Wellington on January 29 for London, and i 3 due there about March 16. RANGATIRA, FROM LONDON. Late last night the Shaw, Savill liner Ran: gatira arriVed in Wellington from London, via Cape Town and Hobajt. Her southern passengers and mails *came south by to-night s boat, and the vessel is due at Lyttelton about a week hence. THE SYDNEY BOAT. . Yesterday morning the Union Company's chartered steamer Willochra arrived in >\ellington from Sydney direct. The passage across the Tasman was far from pleasant, though nothing uiiusual occurred. The INew SOuth Wales port was left early on Saturday afternoon and hazy weather .was met with mediately the Heads were cleared. On Monday evening rain set in, and heavy uust and fog marked the remainder-of the passage. £laa better conditions prevailed arrival in Wellington would have been much earlier than was the case. The officers. report exceptionally thick weather in Cook Strait. _ The Willochra which brought a large number of passengers, lias on board 800 tons of cargo for New Zealand ports, and is due at Lyttelton to-morrow. WAIMANA, FOR LONDON. It was originally intended that the Shaw, Savill steamer Waimana should make \\hangarei her final port in the Dominion. Lhes-: arrangements, however, were altered so as to enablev the vessel to leave Wellington for Auckland and Whangarei last night. From the latter port the Waimana will come to Wellington, sailing finally from this port for London on or about March 9. THE MATATUA. The liner Matatua, from Liverpool, is to leave Auckland next Saturday for Wellington to continue discharge of her cargo. She is due here next Monday, and will subsequently come on to Lyttelton and Dunedin. Loading operations will then and the Matatua will call at Timaru, Gis borne, Napier, Pieton, and ellms }. ol i d London ca go. The vessel has fixed to leave Wellington finally on Marc i. Amongst the latest charters is that of the barque Wild Wave (233 tons), which is to W hardwood at Port .prance mania) for a New Zealand port. The schooner Rachel Cohen (150 tons) also been fixed to load hardwood at Hobart for Invercargill. EXPORTS BY THE AYRSHIRE. The Federal Houlder steamer Ayrshire, while Homeward loading at- Lyttelton, lifted the following cargo for W est Coast ports of the United Kingdom: —Avonmo'uth: 318 sacks of peas, 625 sacks of bran, 1851 carcases of frozen meat, 5'4 crates of cheese. Liverpool: 615 sacks of bran, 18 casks of grease, 65 casks of' tallow, 4 drums of glycerine, 18,279 carcases of frozen meat, 23 crates of runners, 75 crates of cheese, 15 cases of honey. Glasgow: 36 bales of wool, 4876 carcases of frozen meat, 1170* bags of beef, ~ 4 "cases of kidneys, .110 crates of cheese. ' 'v
