Press Association. % OAMARTJ, February 20. His Excellgncy the Governor and Lady Liverpool paid their first official visit to Oamaru to-day and; were enthusiastically received by the residents on arrival. The party motored to the Oamaru Gardens, where his ;Excellency was welcomed by the Acting-Mayor (Mr R. Milligan) in the absence of the Mayor and presented with an address, and was later entertained at a civic lunch. His Excellency then visited the Waitaki* Boys > High School and presented the Meatti Cup to Cyril King, the first New Zealand scholar to win the trophy. The party left for the North in the afternoon.
