MR SCOTLAND'S AEROPLANE.

FIRST FLIGHT FIXED FOjB INVERCARGILL. Christehurch will not liave the honour of seeing the first aeroplane flglit in the South Island after all; Mr Victor Beck, who is acting as manager for Mr J. W. EL Scotland, the young New Zealand aviator, was unable to secute a suitable ground in Christehurch city on a date which would fit in with their arrangements, and the cherished idea of making the first flight here has had to be abandoned. i£r Scotland and his assistants have taken the big Caudron biplane South, and a telegram received this morning by a member of THE SUN staff stated that the first flight will be made at Invercargill on Wednesday next. Mr Scotland will return to Christehurch shortly, and will probably make several flights. It is his inten-. tion to pass over the city.
