CRICKET.
Press Association. WELLINGTON, February 13. The .members of the Australian cricket team were given a civic reception this morning. The weather for the match is unpromising, slight rain falling all 1 the morning, and even if the weather clears and the game is started at 2 o'clock, the ground will be heavy. HOTELS v. PICTURE SHOWS. J , \ A return, match, was played yesterday between teams representing the Canterbury Licensed Victuallers' Association and the men interested in the moving picture business in Christchurch. The Licensed Victuallers scored 78 (H. J. Moon 23, A. J. Lawrence 17). Radcliffe took six wickets ' for 26 runs, - and Cooper., four for 22. The picture show people replied with 102 (Beattie 32 retired, Radcliffe" 24). " Lawrence took four wickets for 24" runs. In view of- a number of members who should take part in the semi-final matches, Riccarton versus West Christchurch and Sydenham versus East Chfistchilrfch, being on tour with the Canterbury team'- K these: matches will not be continued to-morrow, but a scratch game wiil be arranged at Hagley Park between the remaining members of the-above-mentioned teams. The Competitions Committee wish to draw particular attention to the fact that, with the excepion of the-above two matches, all competition matches will be played as usual.
