2,000 JOBS IN JEOPARDY IN VICTORIA RAILWAY WORKS POSITION MELBOURNE, Thursday. The council of the Victorian Railways Union, which has 16,000 members, rejected the suggested rationing of work iff the railway service. The Premier, Mr. E. J. Hogan, told the council that the alternative to rationing would be the immediate dismissal of from 1,500 to 2,000 men.
